Eladre is divided into century-spanning ages. They are recorded by esteemed timekeepers and scholars of the Omniscience — said to be a world-famous library. Recorded history originates from 0 AD — Year 0, Post-Da’at — while the current year is marked as 2132 AD.
Eras are the smaller periods contained within each age. The time of certain monarchs and heroes, widespread disasters, and so forth. Eras will be recorded here as they are discovered or learned.
Pre-0 BD: Age of Perfection
A lost age. A time before Eladre was lifted unto the skies. Dragonkind once lived in harmony with a people that did not know disease, hunger, nor scarcity. A single, utopian people: Da’at.
However, that age was not ever-lasting. Da’at was consumed whole by an event known as the Grand Daemonica. Dragonkind sacrificed themselves to save the remnants of Eladre and lift it unto the skies.
0 AD — 587 AD: Age of Magic
A span of time following the fall of Da’at. Though the world had been reset back to a natural, primal state, and the populace were but a fraction of their former numbers, people lived on.
- 0 — 116: Recovery Era. Survivors repopulate and resettle within their new, unfamiliar land.
This age is considered a classical age by historians. A wide number of mageocracies would rise and fall; nowadays, such people are known as the Astrals — when the blood of Da’at still ran thick.
- 255 — 471: Astral Era. A time of prosperity. Myths ran rampant and the first legends were born.
- 513 — 587: Downfall Era. A slow, gradual death to the Age of Magic as the Astrals dwindled in power.
587 AD — 912 AD: Age of Chaos
With the Astrals’ fall, the vibrant mageocracies gave way for the material and the romantic. Magecraft became reminiscent of its modern-day usage. Eikons and heroes would battle regularly. Skyships were no longer the purview of the elite or powerful; here, the first Sky Lords would claim the skies.
- 674 — 776: Era of Piracy. An early renaissance of pirates, led by the first generation of Sky Lords.
Whether this age can be considered a golden age or a dark age is up for debate. In many ways, it was both. Conflict coincided with heroism. Treasures would be buried, lost, and discovered.
912 AD — 1432 AD: Age of the Empire
And then, the Rosalian Empire entered the scene. An ironclad tyranny with advanced technology. Declaring the Magna Azure Ordo, they swept across the skies in a worldwide conquest.
- 927 — 960: Ashen Era. Countless islands were subjugated in an unparalleled military blitz.
- 960 — 1111: Smoke Era. Victory was assured. And while the Empire prospered, the people choked.
Three centuries followed their victory, but the Iron Maiden did not cease. Under her rule, the Empire’s grasp of MAG-Tech advanced at an astonishing rate. Eikons were enslaved. Ships became industrial. Only an intervention by the Warrior of Light would cease her bloody march … though at cost to his life.
- 1343 — 1430: Aetheric Era. Science developed at an incredible rate. Eikons were enslaved.
1432 AD — Present: Age of Flowers
A long, long period of peace, following the Empire’s calamitous end. Nature bloomed across new colors. But with it came The Fury. It is a time without nations, without great powers, where communities and city states flourish within their havens. MAG-Tech is spread across Eladre at varying levels. Conflict stirs, and remnants of the Empire live, but the Frontier is free once more.
- 1434 — 1512: The Fury. Monsterkind’s war of reclamation. Many of the Empire’s secrets were buried.
Over those thousand years, a legend has been retold, recounted, remembered: The Last Breath. The greatest treasure in this or any age in a paradise unlike any other. Only in recent centuries has that legend gained traction; more and more, generation by generation, people hunt for the mythical treasure.
